MANILA, Philippines — Actress-dancer-singer Yassi Pressman said she finds it gratifying that she inspires other girls to pursue their artistic leanings, among other things. But she also revealed that she, too, finds inspiration in other people.

“I love ‘Ate’ Anne [Curtis] so much. She is a person that has a lot of values aside from talent, aside from beauty,” Pressman told the Inquirer in an interview at the sidelines of a program launching her as the 2023 calendar girl for a liquor brand, held at the Makati Diamond Residences on Nov. 8.

“She’s been here for so long, it means she just continues to give her best in her work. So I really respect people like that,” continued Pressman. Curtis also happened to pose for the liquor brand’s calendar series in 2011.

Pressman has been vocal about her personal struggles with her health. She shared during the program how she found it necessary to “let go” and take a break from the pressure of maintaining a certain look.

The British-Filipino celebrity revealed that she took it upon herself to find the right time to get back to the road to fitness, and not from any external influences. “I thought I had to get back in shape for my health,” she shared.

Inspiring other people to accept their bodies and acknowledge their emotions has been fulfilling for Pressman, she said as she underscored that it’s absolutely important to become a role model, “100 percent.”
